I've been playing submarine sims since I think it was Silent Service back in the late 80's. I'm a big fan of Silent Hunter 4. I finally acquired the U Boat add-on so now I can join the world of modded game play. I've learned so good stalking techniques here and from the youtube videos. The most important being how to position myself in front of a convoy and wait for them to come to me.

I do have 2 questions that I've missed seeing the answers to so far.

First, which mod is the one that gives the cool navigation map with the distance conversion charts on the side?

Second, how the heck do you use the ladder torpedos efficiently. I guess I'm used to the US doctrine of get within 1000 yards but as far as I can tell they don't start to go into the ladder search for 5000 yards. So so fire them from that far away and cross my fingers?

I'm not great but I'd love to play online once and sink ships together. If you have the patience to help me I promise not to accidently sink you with a homing torpedo:)
