We're experiencing 'heavy' snow, with as much as 4" (10cm) of the white stuff. I'm embarrassed by my country's lack of ability during this bad weather. :nope:

2 inches of snow and our country grinds to a halt :haha:

AVGWarhawk 01-14-13 12:19 PM

Talk of snow on the news and schools cancel for the day. :haha:

One of the worst thing in this is that people who aren't use to it will surely have a hard time driving, without winter tires that must be hell...

where I live we always gets a lot of snow during winter. I got winter tires and believe me in snowy days you must double your braking distance.

And be extremely cautious in elevations whether you go down or you go up.

I would even suggest that you avoid certain elevations at all cost since you can so easily loose control...

When I used to live out east by Washington DC, they were scared of snow too! They never really had the proper equipment to handle the job of cleaning the roads at that time. But mention snow in the weather forecast, and all the milk, bread and toilet paper would be sold out at the stores within hours, lol They were scared they would be stuck at home for days! Even if it only snowed 3 or 4 inches.

LOL mate, 4 inches, four bloody inches, it's the Mayan calender all over again. H-B you know what it's like here. Other than war, or terrorism, any adversity seems to bring this country to its knees

Best regards.

ha, 25cm, no snow plow, snow chains in the trunk and I got to work on time :O:

Armistead 01-14-13 01:06 PM

Four inches is heavy snow...:har::har::har:

That's got to be connected to male insecurity, making 4 inches a big deal. Where I live 8 inches ain't a big deal.

Oberon 01-14-13 01:06 PM

No snow here yet. But we're usually the last to get it. It's been trying but not enough to settle.

Jimbuna 01-14-13 01:09 PM

I notice on the link a car ended up like a land rover you once claim to have driven :hmm2:

You weren't the car driver as well were you? :D

Bilge_Rat 01-14-13 01:13 PM

10 cm?!?!

We have already received close to 100 cm since winter started, more than enough to take the snowmobiles out...

I was the passenger in the Land Rover, not the driver.

It would be so bad if idiots didn't drive at 2mph, I know you should slow down quite a bit and brake early but less than walking pave is just taking the proverbial.

kraznyi_oktjabr 01-14-13 01:39 PM

:haha: 10 cm? :har: Its called 'heavy snow'? :rotfl2:

Arclight 01-14-13 01:40 PM

We got like 1-2 inches. Supposed to be the same 4 inches "heavy snow". Seems there's more moving in though, judging from the radar...

Good lord, it only takes a handfull of leaves to derail the trains around here. Think I know what the big story will be on tomorrow's news. :nope:
