FFG missile defence?
Ok so I tried the East Timor mission. 4 missiles is launched at my ffg. I have the CIWS set to Full Auto (idle?). Countermeasure Auto crew. I manage to get one antimissile away, but then I get destroyed.
Im using the RA-mod |
I guess it's just a matter of how good a captain you are. :D
I am relatively new to Dangerous Waters....I have the same problem. In the RSR Campaign, theres one level where you defend the convoy from Backfire bombers....They fire a TON of missiles and half of them are usually aimed at me... :o |
It sounds like it pretty accurately depicts that scene from the book. The American fleet gets WIPED during those Backfire attacks with only a few vessels getting out undamaged.

As for that scenario, it all comes down to luck and getting yourself prepared for the attack and praying for the best. |

What's the name of the scenario? As I remember from the book, there was some American air support in the air from the carrier that successfully took out several of the Backfires and whittled them down by the time they came in for the attack. It wasn't much, but it did help lessen SOME of the damage.
I'm sure you can edit the backfires tasking, if you wanted to, to target other ships and maybe only have a couple target yours. |
Have you tried missile launching at the Backfires the moment they come into range and just keep targeting and firing?
This could also have the effect of getting you targeted quickly too, but I'd try that. |
In mine humble opinion... one or two are survivable... but four... two will hit you for sure.

I forgot the name of the mission but I know that there isn't a carrier in my group. |
If your very quick with your mouse keep loading deasigning re assign you can launch one missile every 16 seconds with quick launch off only the harpoons need to be readied first.
|
Or you could cheat and go into the mission editor and change the targets for or remove some of those backfires. But then again, that would be.... cheating.
