Crush depth or time elaped submermerged

Hi there, first time poster. NIce to be here;)

started playing SH3 this year and have upgraded to 4 recently. So far so good but im having a problem sometimes when i attack underwater. After i get my first volley off i go deep to find the termoclyne(sp?) usually around 200ft. when i get there after a few minutes i begin to take on water and sink!! I read the crush test depth is 250 but she can go more and im definately under the 48 endurence.
Is it a glitch am i stooopid. Help would be greatly appreaciated.
Happy new year everyone!

Welcome to this super site,

Quite new myself but I'm wondereing if you checked the depth beneath you, you might have run aground.

Are you using any mods or are you playing vanilla and what version are you using?

Hi Hertogjan thanks a lot for your interest and quick reply.
I'm pretty sure im operating in deep water (currently in the Luzon strait) unless im hitting underwater mountains. Im using v 1.5.

not too up to date with the mods. downloaded from the ubi site a few months ago. Any you would recommend?

Welcome aboard. You need to scrape and repair all that damage you caused.
Stock game test depth is exactly that. What it says is what you get. It's been a while since I played stock, I forget what the crush depths are.
My favorite set is TMO, RSRDC, MaxOptics, then assorted mini-mods. There is a lot written on the forum about the mods. My suggestion is to try different ones and see what you like.

What Fireftr says pick one and test it, the mega mods around are:
TMO
RFB
OM
OMEGU
GFO----- this one might be of interest to start of with, its the "game fix only" mod, it reworks the stock (1.5) game.

There could be others but haven't read through the hole list of MOD's so I'm hoping not to step on anyone's toes .

PS
When downloading a MOD plz read the readme, I know its a hassle sometimes but you'll understand better what it does and after which mod to install so not to make a mess of things.

Come to think of it, do you have JSGME if not here's the link:
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...o=file&id=3559

Don't forget to make a snapshot with this tool before you install any mods and make a copy of your silent hunter data folder.
_ After messing about with MOD's, specially in the begining when you're fine tuning the MOD you want, the game's bound to get FUBAR the snapshot helps to find the missing, broken, or replaced files, then when you have to many broken files you simply replace the entire data folder :yeah:

Don't know if you're 'manual targeting' yet but if so this MOD http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...o=file&id=3139 is MUST have, is OTC for stock game 1.5, read through the readme and you'll understand why you need it.

Side note:
If you're gonna use a mega mod like TMO or RFB you'll have to download the appropriate OTC version!

Good luck and good hunting

Something is amiss. If you pass crush depth, takes about 30 seconds you'll go through a sequence of mass damage with sounds and die in about a min or less. However, any previous bulkhead damage can effect your crush depth.

There is no time limit you can stay passed crush depth, just the line of death, you go one foot passed the set crush depth of whatever mod or stock values are, you're dead.

You didn't mention what boat you're using, it's possible an S boat may crush at your mentioned depth playing stock, don't recall.
