Here are a couple of mods for free upgrades, so you don't need to 'buy' upgrades for you Uboat. My thought has always been that they didn't buy upgrades in real life, so why would you need to in a simulation. ;)

There are others in the download section too, and posted in threads with links to GameFront and Mediafire. Pick and choose the one that won't conflict with other mods you are using.
