upgrade to LwAmi 3.11
 

I,m stumped....I had vanilla version ,then added 3.08 a while back...i un-installed DW totally,,ran cCleaner to get rid of any registry files,,checked HD to erase any left over files anywhere...re-installed DW to 1.04,,installed 3.11...launched the game and my name i use is still on the options page??? why did it remember my name on a totally clean (so i thought) install??

btw ,just read Red Storm Rising and added those scenarios to DW,, What other Clancy books are as good as this one ?

forgot to add that i just bought from Amazon, for $10 a digital DL of DW , Fleet Command, Sub Command ,and 688 I HunterKiller !! Someone on this forum brought my attention to this deal (Thanks to who it was), i couldnt pass it up... everything installed fine and runs fine on W7.. got to explore these !!

You may have tried to remove the Game folder, as that is where those files are kept I think. (debrief.txt and Commandersname.log) But Vista/Win7/Win8 are picky as to who does what to the files and folders in the Program Files folder (default install location) Completely removing the DW game folder may simply have been aborted by the OS. Instead, choose your own install location whenever possible to avoid modding issues. But I do not know what the Amazon download requires in this regard. Like a special folder to install it into.

you,d think when i un-installed it,, everything would be gone...wonder if i really have 3.11 installed or W7 did what it wanted????

Amazon DL lets you put it where-ever..i was going to put it in a different folder,, but when i went to run the 1.04 upgrade patch,,i couldn,t change the location to where the patch was to be applied... it wanted to apply it to the "program files x86" location.. so i moved it to there where it defaults to...
