3,800 UK troops to leave Afghanistan

And not a moment too soon :yep:

UK to withdraw 3,800 troops from Afghanistan during 2013

Quote:

David Cameron has told MPs that 3,800 British troops - almost half of the current force serving in Helmand province - are to be withdrawn from Afghanistan next year.
Troop numbers are already being reduced from 9,500 to 9,000 before Christmas.
And numbers would fall to about 5,200 by the end of 2013, Mr Cameron told MPs at Prime Minister's Questions.
All Nato operations are due to finish by the end of 2014, with responsibility being transferred to Afghan forces

That's great news JIm, hero's every one of them!:salute:

BTW, a few years ago, I found a video of British troops serving in the Iraq War. They are in a building, and taking fire from a bigger building in the distance. They called in air support, and it must have been a couple of 1,000 pounders which were dropped, because the whole building went up!! The Brits were yelling and carrying on after the drop, but I couldn't understand what they were saying. So I sent the link (which I can't find at the moment) to my friend who lives in London. I asked him to tell me what they said because with their accents, I didn't understand them. He wrote back and said, I could tell you what they said, but they're northeners and its nothing but profanity!! LOL

No luck yet on that particular video, but have sent an email to my friend John in London to see if he still has it. Have seen some pretty intense videos of Brits in action in Iraq, looks like more confusion then anything else at times. Being shot at from every direction
