Oregon gunman had 'no connection' to victims

Quote:

Police searched the mall for anyone left injured or hidden inside a store, as the BBC's Alastair Leithead reports

A gunman had no connection to the two people he killed in a shooting spree at a shopping mall in Portland, Oregon, police have said.

The man in his 20s intended to kill as many people as possible, police added.

A third person was seriously injured at the Clackamas Shopping Center and was taken to hospital, Lt James Rhodes of Clackamas County Police said.

Shootings like this normally do not have a connection. Random senseless violence.

I don't know, seems it's about half and half. We had a shooting last year at the gas mart up the road. An ex employee came in, shot a customer, shot the owner that fired him in the face, then stood in the parking lot and just started shooting at cars, the storefront, etc...Luckily the others around didn't get hit. The cops pulled up, he killed himself. I was across the street at the other conv. store. Funny, I use both, just depends if I'm coming or going.... In the end, the shooter was the only one that died, but the store owner is still a mess.

Other side of town for me. (It's a nice mall though) Been too busy at work to pay attention to the story. From what I've heard, they've had kind of a black out on info. This is what i've heard so far (as of last night) the place is in total lockdown, and police will eventually help people get their stuff back from mall.

Example: gunfire starts, Jim drops purse/ bags of stuff and runs for life. Purse/bags now locked in mall.

Not surprising considering the real life circumstances.
