Surveillance image of Khalid Ali-M Aldawsari.

Quote:

The 20-year-old Saudi Arabian man living in Lubbock, Texas was intent on waging jihad against Americans—possibly even a former U.S. president—and he was one ingredient away from being able to build a powerful bomb.

But Khalid Ali-M Aldawsari’s deadly plans began to unravel when a shipping company’s suspicions were raised—illustrating once again how the FBI relies on private industry and the general public in the fight against terror.

Oh, I don't know, lots of showers with clumsy 'soap-droppers'. :hmm2:

If the shipping company contacted the manufacturer and they said don't deliver it - why did they send it in the first place? :hmmm:

Often in these kinds of cases, so the goods are sent to various parties, and then becomes more difficult to track.

Best guess I have is that they were not aware that it was residential address - make it look like something related to university for example. It wasn't local company after all and I don't think they have time (or interest) to check every address from Google StreeView. :hmmm:
