snorkel for two

how to add a snorkel to type two?

although not realistic, this time, i try to stay with type 2 until 1945,
but without snorkel.....

Well a snorkels not really such a big thing and if your in a type 2 your battery probally wont last as long as the snorkel will help you unless your crawling along.

First things first.
The type 2 series of submarines was made for WW1 and was replaced by the type 7 series and even then they only ones used were for training purposes. Your best bet would be a mod.

in this forum, i read that the type 2 were withdrawn mid 1940 for purposes of school and training; later, a few were used in the Black Sea.

Wow, I was watching this thread hoping it got better results than mine did.

Anyrate! You should repost this thread in the mods section of the SH3 forum.
I tried to get the game to "think" my dugout canoe had a snorkel, but to no avail (yet).

Maybe if the question is asked again, it'll get answered!

edit:
To everyone else, are you afraid of someone else getting a little action?
c'mon, guys, a little support, please.

Yes. But they were replaced by small single person mini-Subs.

The Boat was not designed to fit a Snorkel. And the boat's flaws and early design would have made a refit impractical. Especially because the mini-Subs that replaced them ran solely on batteries.
On top of that was the reason the Snorkel was used, so large U Boats didn't need to surface to recharge their batteries. The type 2 was small enough that it didn't need to worry about this and it was deployed in areas where ally air was slimmer. Therefore reducing the need to stay underwater.

ah, but there was at least one type II with snorkel fitted. I don't think he's asking for a critique, I think he's asking for help...

edit: the Type II u-boat was designed in 1932, not world war one.

Its not a critique. I was just explaining why its not in the game. I still think the best way to go would be to find a mod just like you said.

In the files you can probally add something to the game that lets you get a snorkel, just tricks the game. But like I said you would need longer lasting batteries unless you were going super slow

In the files you can probally add something to the game that lets you get a snorkel, just tricks the game. You will need a larger battery for it, so a mod since you can't give it one in stock. And I wasn't trying to be unhelpful:salute:
