Australian Internet filtering policy dumped
Finally Senator Conjob has scrapped one of his dumbest concepts: http://www.smh.com.au/opinion/politi...109-2937g.html
Not that he's suddenly become smart or anything. He's just wasted $125m on futzing around with this policy for the last 5 years.:/\\!! |
Plan looked doomed from the start. Politicians need to learn that you can't control the internet the way they want too.:hmmm:

Omura: Enlighted One, we must discuss this- Emperor Meiji: Omura, you have done quite enough. Omura: Everything I have done, I have done for my country. Emperor Meiji: Then you will not mind when I seize your family's assets and present them as my gift to the people. Omura: [furious] You disgrace me! Emperor Meiji: If your shame is too unbearable, I offer you this sword! [Emperor Meiji holds up Katsumoto's sword. Unwilling to commit seppuku, Omura backs down]. Now i'd bet that there isn't one of us here, regardless of their political leanings who can't think of at least one politician they'd like to see this happen to. :) |

maybe we can call it: ''voluntary'' donation to the nation :hmmm: |

If only we could back-date it. |
As all the candidates proclaim how GREAT they are at business?
Why don't they fall under my business commitments? If I undertake a contract and I lose money? Guess who eats that lose? We should add that to the constitution! Call it the "You promised profit and got the weeny up the arse" amendment! :haha: I'll bet the BS would stop REAL quick! I know this. No real Businessman would ever run for a Govt position unless he can make more money then if he did an honest days work. When is the last time a poor guy ran for a so called 'High Office'? Your talking millions gambled to lose! I'd as soon see all of them hanged by the neck till dead, dead, DEAD!! For every bad decision they push through! :stare: |
5 years and millions of dollars wasted by conjob and co ,they were told right at the start it wouldn't work but stupid decided to go ahead any way!
Unfortunately our Luddite mis-communications minister keeps his job after this:/\\!!:/\\!! Had a though yesterday when this was announced ,it's a federal election next year and the labor party looks like it's going to have the kind of lose that will keep them in opposition for the next decade ,made me wonder if their trying to get the techie/geek vote by staking this thing and finally giving us an R18+ category for games.... |

The fundamental thing is that most of these bastages don't have a clue when it comes to technology, how it works or how to control it. Control being their end goal in everything they do, if someone tells them they could be in control if they do X, then they'll try it. :/\\!! |

Just kidding..... sorta..... |
Some more commentary: http://www.smh.com.au/digital-life/c...109-292dc.html
How Conjob can call this backdown a success is beyond me. The battle way be over but the censorship/control of our digital lives war goes on... |
