Surprise!
 

So, I started my second patrol needing to sink my 4th and last Polish ship to complete the current mission before moving to bigger and better ones... I make it to my patrol location(which takes substantially longer with real navigation on). I've seen a lot of Finnish ships and such, but I need that Polish Flag to show up... Then SMOKE on the horizon. I get a good feeling about it, crank it into full speed and change course to intercept. I'm starting to get closer, I can see the ship... I'm still feeling good that the ship is the one I need and as I'm looking through the UZO trying to see if I can make out the flag.... a mass of explosions, Orange, yellow fire, and grey smoke... it's totally destroyed!!! NNNNOOOOOooooo...... What happened?!?, some kind of bug? Then I see the plane coming out of the dive! "Luftwaffe!" ...Totally stole my kill. Back to the drawing board. Disheartened, I save and decide to resume the search tomorrow... (tonight :03: )

Luftwaffe, you may become my personal "Newman!".

This has happened to me too - don't let your watch crew shout out a contact too loud. You never know who may hear:rotfl2:

Sink em all (unless the Luftwaffe gets there first):arrgh!:

... and just to rub it in I hear them coming over the radio as they do a fly by... "Did I do that?!?"... Like some kind of 1939's version of Erkel... :wah:

One day Luftwaffe... straight to the moon!!! hehehe :03:

Funny story - hasn't happened to me yet but I'd have the same feeling -wtf? :o

Actually it's pretty cool that the game can do that.

That sounds so cool. Even with the frustration, it's good eye candy as well as immersion.

Haven't seen it happen yet for any campaign mission. If you can next time, if it happens again, grab a screenshot. ;)

Nope, I haven't seen it happen.... ever. I guess I was never in the right place to see it.

Come to think of it yes I have, but it was my Uboat that caused the explosions. ;) LOL
