SH5 Install Switch app allows you to change the default launch folder of the Silent Hunter 5, providing you with ability to have multiple copies of SH5 on your computer.

How does it work?
UPlay Launcher asks Windows Registry for the location of the installation directory and the exec path. This application changes those paths within the registry, so UPlay Launcher looks in the directories you would like. It means that the application has to be run every time you want to switch the location/version of your SH5.
At the moment, there are only 2 selectable options, because I have just started figuring out C# (and the program is written with Microsoft Visual Express 2012) and have no idea how to do dynamic GUI; that is something for future versions.

Note 1: The initial launch of the program is slightly lengthy due to the program locating the Registry Paths.
Note 2: This program does not change your Document***8217;s settings and saves, so I don***8217;t recommend running the saves from one version/mods on another version/mods. Try this only if you know what you are doing.
Note 3: You do need .NET Framework 3.5 on your computer. I would assume everyone has it already, but just as a reminder decided to mention.

Hi again. You really are a Moder. I never thought about reinstalling the sh5 several times, but you had a good idea. Many times i have formated my old pc. With the new one, sooner or later i will. Ubisoft is being more problematic each day.

I have downloaded your app just in case, in the future.
Any way, i don't understand the steps to follow. Before installing the dvd, should i run your app ????

The ones that I posted in another thread? They do not relate to this little program at all. Sorry, but I don't quite understand what are you asking...
I would strongly recommend not to do things if you do not understand what are they doing or what result are you looking for.

Hello Targor Avelany :salute:, I have both versions of SH5, the normal version and the collectors version, can you tell me please if I can Install the collectors and the standard versions separately on the same computer ?, the last time when I reinstall SH5 using my brand new SH5 collectors edition disk, was not necessary for me to use the new collectors serial numbers (I dont enter anymore any serial number to reinstall SH5), and I think somehow I was still using the serial number of my standard SH5 game even if I was installing using the SH5 collector edition disk, thank you for the help :up:

hmm... Unfortunately I don't think it'll be that straight forward. Unfortunately I don't have the second version, so can't test. But honestly - is there a difference between them?

Theoretically what you can do is to get the folders of both of them and try launching them with the UPlay launcher. With my app you can switch which one launcher will start.

If it will be needed, I'll expand the application to work with files in Document folder and Program Files, so people might have different set of settings/saves.

Thank you very much for the answer :yeah: Targor Avelany, I am not sure if both versions are identical, apparently the only difference is the collector edition having just a few camuflage skins options for the subs as standard/stock, but I am not sure

I thought your app was to make easier to reinstall SH5. After having read the FORO HISPANO DE SUBSIM, i saw that reinstalling sh5 is getting some problems, like keeping some mods in the new reinstallation, instead of clearing all. I think that the problem is the launcher, but, i am not an expert. What i can tell you is that 2 days ago i had to desinstall sh5 due to no starting the game. I could read in a black screen OUT OF RANGE. Probably it is the problem with my resolution 1020 x 768 60 Hz, and you were very nice trying to help me. And it took toooo much to reinstall. Much more than the first one.

I set desconexion with internet, but, that day, the launcher said UPDATE UPLAY, and i couldn`t stop it, and after that, the game was blocked, imposible to play.

Following your advise, i installed MMM. THANK YOU.¡
