First Post
Hello Officers,
Here is my first post in this blog. I have been playing this game for some time now. Need help from the Captains to hunt down with more efficiency!! BTW, first mission was a success this season. Sunk merchant tonnage worth 10,000 Tns and evaded escorts by sitting on the ocean bed at 117 Meters. Need suggestions on how to evade destroyer escorts... Thats kinda tough!! SH3 GWX 3.0 v |
Welcome aboard :salute:
Not bad for a first mission, I don't think you need our help. :O: |
WELCOME ABOARD! :sunny:
Evading destroyers is always a tricky question, especially if there are more than one. Silent running is your friend, until you can hear their propellers without the hydrophones. If they're that close then they are about to drop. Go to flank speed, chance course and depth as quickly as possible, since depth charges once dropped can't change their settings. A note about your sig: The King at the time was George VI. "Her" Majesty wasn't queen until seven years after the war ended. :D |

More over I completely rely on stealth meter and nothing else during evasive maneuvers. |
Sorry, I should have asked sooner: What mods are you running, if any? In the stock game the destroyers have "laser vision". They can see you wherever you are and drop with unnatural precision. Fortunately the game allows those parameters to be fiddled with, and there are mods (and supermods) which fix the problem so the escorts have realistic limitations to their sonar arrays, and effectively drop "blind". There are also mods (also included in the supermods) which change the depth charge blast radius to more realistic numbers. In GWX or NYGM you can be depth-charged for hours and still escape, whereas in the stock game once they get a good fix on you, your goose is pretty much cooked.
