A question regarding a major bug

I've been out of the loop for a few months when it comes to SH5 so I was wondering if anyone has been able to remove that bug that causes the crewman who calls out ship sightings, ship bearing, depth setting etc. to fall completely silent? I experienced this bug quite frequently about two months ago while using sober's mod list, and it seems like not much has changed when it comes to that mod list (I may be wrong, though). The bug was quite difficult to remove by saving and reloading, because it seemed to persevere despite numerous restarts, and it made the game unplayable in my opinion.

Has anyone else experienced this? Has TDW perhaps been looking into it?

(Sorry if this has been answered already somewhere else. If it has, please feel free to delete this thread.)

Sorry for the late reply. Yes, one of the bugs that was in question was not only a silent soundman who called out nothing, but after you get out of base port your watch crew stops calling ship sightings.
If you install TDW's patcher, one of the bug fixes is getting your watch crew and soundman to do their jobs.
I'm her to say it works. Along with a host of other patches that not only fix bugs but add functionality to the boat.
The patcher is here: http://www.mediafire.com/?122j2dqypoy3ev4
There is some info on how to use it here:

And you may want to go to the thread for the patcher here:

Good Luck.
