Mac Crossover help

I was able to load SHIII on my 27" Mac using the new Crossover. The graphics and frame rate is great.

Does any one know how to download GWX and other mods to the Mac using Crosover?

Any help would be appreciated.

Ive done it using Wine http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManage...rsion&iId=5618, but unfortunately GWX seems to crash when I start a career (I can do the academy missions fine). It crashes at the dock just as im leaving. I believe it must be a memory problem. Looking for a solution but havnt found one yet.

So far i'm enjoying playing the vanilla version of the game, but would love to get GWX working in Wine.

if Crossover works the same way as wine (I know its built on the same tech). Then you need to open the package and find the Wine/Crassover app just inside, it maybe called CrossOver options or something similar***8212;Sometimes Alt clicking on the package will actually just open the app Im talking about, but it also closes the window youre looking at***8212;So its easier to just open the package and look inside. Running the Wine/Crossover app inside should give you the options to run a exe file.

I've just had success with GWX using CXEx Wrapper: http://portingteam.com/topic/5820-guide-cxex-central/

CXEx is a flavour of Wine (similar to CrossOver that the OP is using, only its free ;-) )

Managed to get out of port without crashing, and navigate to patrol grid. granted I did it from the nav screen, rather than viewing from the bridge, that may have helped. I'll continue testing and see how stable it is. But it is a positive result so far.

Ive started a career a few times with GWX and it seems ok. Tried adding OLC mod on top but that crashed when viewing from the bridge whether at sea or in port.

So far I have GWX with the resolution mod to get full screen, Im running at 1600 x 1200 ok.

 - I'm pretty happy with that, i'll give it some extensive play this weekend.

hey cheers :salute:

Ive slightly altered my resolution settings, I had it set to full screen. But now I've put back into a window as there was some mouse issues.

SHIII loads and plays great so far. It is even faster then a PC. My problem is finding it on my Mac so I can direct the GWX download to load into the right directory.

here Ive done you a little tutorial:

http://www.sh3.freeiz.com/index.php/...INE#Adding_GWX

It may appear slightly different in Crossover, but should be essentially the same, as Crossover is built on wine. :know:
