Scotland Yard could be sold as part of £500m savings plan
Well, I thought I'd heard it all but I guess I have now.
Whatever next?....The crown jewels or have they already been sold off or melted down to pay for the palace heating bill? Quote:

Thanks for the "heads up" Jim,
Not that I'd want it particularly but I'm a bit strapped for cash right now, can't lay my hands on £500,000,000 :D |
Oh dear dear me am speechless................
|
am pennyless as well :D
|
Aren't we all?
Still...New Scotland Yard? :nope::nope::nope: |
Says a lot regarding how desperate the government are to see through austerity measures.
If I were the Met I'd ask the government for advice on how to achieve the spending cuts then 'leak' it to the public. I pray we don't have another three years of this. |
I pray we don't either but I fear we will :(

Selling out the police activity is not good, society needs basic pieces and the police should not be subject to financial speculation.

I agree Vendor, selling off police stations is bad all the way around. Seem's to me that if the police are moved out of an area, their response time to a problem in that area will take longer, which is not good for anyone. Leave it to Government to make life harder for the people, especially when the Govt screws up!!

This is more a case of sending out a negative message to the population of London because it is the headquarters of the Met Police and is known worldwide as the main policing building in the capital of the country. |
Ah, I see now.

Next up the UK will be on sale! |
So recruiting large numbers of "not really proper police" and even signing up underage not really proper police, hasn't saved them much if they are still having to sell off their police stations.
Time to call in G4S to show them how it should be done. |
