Well Vendor, I doubt this will come as a shock to anyone. How many people believed this truce would work anyway?

A truce or ceasefire only works when there is a unified command that can agree to the truce or ceasefire. If there is not a unified command, and insurgents/rebels are often not under unified command, than ceasefires can be problematic.
The problem in Syria is that there are different factions that may not be cooperating with each other. Unfortunately, this can lead to some political manipulations (shocker). Side A agrees to a ceasefire with Side B. Side C continues to attack Side A Side A accuses Side B of breaking the ceasefire and claims that Side B can't be trusted. Happens a lot. Sometimes even Side A and Side C are the same side. :yep: |
