GWX HELP

Hi.
I am downloading SH3 through steam.
I deleted everything, and re-downloaded the game then installed the mod and put the files in the SH3 folder under steamapps.

I start the game everything works fine but when I try to start a mission or a career it will load up to just about the last 2%. Then freeze right before launch of the world.
I don't know why this is happening. Please Help if you may.

Do you have any other mods running Night60700 ?

Best regards.

When you say "freeze", do you mean it stops loading but doesn't do anything else? You might try just waiting longer. GWX adds many things to the game that can take a lot longer to load.

Yes. If you use a lot of mods, the loading times are way longer.

Well worth the wait.

I only have GWX3 running tought I really don't know how many mods that is. It's not that its loading slow, its that the game crashes and does nothing more at about 2% done.

Now you say it "crashes". Does it go back to the desktop, or does it just stop? As I said, if it stops it might still be loading. It can take up to 10 minutes to load, depending on the system and number and type of mods. GWX is more than twice the size of SH3.

10 minutes? I've had load times of around 20.

Wait.

Please post your system specs.:hmmm:
Which OS are you using ? WinXP, VISTA, Win7?
How much RAM do you have in your system?
Which video card?
etc.

Are there other programs running when you try to run SH3 with GWX? I find I often forget to close my email program. :o The less RAM you have, the more critical this becomes.

Wait.

20 minutes? For me, it takes less than 5 minutes....but I guess it has to do with what spec you have on your PC, :hmmm:

Did you perform a registry clean before reinstalling?

I am running GWX with 12 mods on an older pc with Win 7. My SHIII directory is in my program files. I load in under 5. Min.

As jimbuna advised you need a good program deletion Software to delete everything to do with SHIII. Then delete SHIII from your C drive/documents/SHIII. THEN RELOAD.

Unless youre getting a CTD, then just wait.

If it takes a few hours to work itself out, then let it. Sometimes it just needs alone time, and will respond better on later loads.

Have you let it keep loading? On my old system, a career load usually took between 20 - 25 minutes, and the last 5 minutes was with a black screen.

On a 20ghz single core with 2gb ram the game would take 18 minutes.
