Microsoft ban 18 rated games from Windows 8 store in Europe

Yet another "brilliant" Windows 8 decision as Microsoft bans all 18+ rated games from its new Windows 8 store throughout Europe.

EDIT: Nvm, you fixed it.

Oh well, the_tyrant isn't in Europe, and he's the only win8 user (and advocate) of it I know.

Europeans love to knock Americans for freaking out over things like seeing Janet Jackson's nipple, and then they pull this. Funny. :O:

This is unfortunate, but expected.

After all, Microsoft never allowed AO games on its windows phones, there was never any porn on their zune and xbox services, Microsoft never allowed pornographic games on xbox live marketplace, etc.

However, this is highly unfortunate, I have had the opportunity to try some extremely well done Japanese pornographic video games. They are very well dome, with great voice acting, amazing motion capture, and exquisite graphics.

I would have loved to experience one on a tablet in bed.

However, please note that this only applies to Windows RT, since windows 8 can still install programs from sources other than the store.

PS: why don't you Europeans try KDE? KDE is getting better and better with touch.

I don't think MS is behind those rules....does not make sense.

.

Its not so much about that kind of adult game, which probably would be banned from Steam etc too... but more mainstream stuff like ARMA II, Aliens vs Predator, Assassins Creed, Company of Heroes GTA etc etc which are all 18 rated in Europe.

In windows 8, there will be a Windows Store that allows you to buy programs, and deliver updates to them.

Now if you have a Windows RT (otherwise known as a Windows On Arm device), the Windows Store will be your only source for programs.

Do they have some sort of department of these ideas? I mean it sure sounds like the same guys who came up with the awesome "Let's build DirectX in to Windows 7" and "Let's tell the user he can't decide what he wants to do with his own C:\"

M$ wants more money. They want more ways to make money.

I can't say I'm surprised.
