[REQ-IDEA] REPAIRS AND CRASH DIVE

It just hit me: Is there any way to automatically stop any repair job done when a crash dive is ordered?

I was on the surface repairing a damaged engine when a plane showed up.
I instantly hit "c" and crash dived and the repair team was working as if nothing was going on.

Is there a way to fix this?
Maybe like the external torpedeo reload procedure in Hsie's and Stiebler's patches and add-ons?

Thank you very much.

Hit "z" then "c." That'll stop them for sure.

;)

why would you want them to stop? just asking because the planes (as far as i know are equipped with bombs or rockets or depth charges.

Realistically, in a crash dive the sub takes on a steep angle. Crew members would be hanging on to whatever structure was handy rather than working.

Likewise I keep the Automatic Reload for the torpedoes turned off. After firing the sub would necessarily be using steep diving angles to avoid depth charges, and it is impossible to reload torpedoes under those conditions. They would fire them all, go deep and make sure they were not being chased before they even considered starting to reload.

Also the same calm conditions required for bringing in external torps would keep them from reloading internals while surfaced if the sea was rough at all. The game lets us get away with a lot of things that were impossible (or at least impractical) in real life.

Doing that will enable silent running making crash dive impossibe

@desertstriker
As Sailor Steve said , imagine working on a damaged engine and suddenly the Uboot dives at a steep angle at flank speed!
That poor Mechaniker will meet his Maker before the DC rain!
After the Uboot levels out they can carry on with their repairs.

@Sailor Steve
I agree with you.

Actually, you will still go into a crash dive at ahead flank and silent running will be enabled the entire time. Not exactly a good or realistic solution, but it will accomplish what you asked.:rotfl2:

I didn't know that.
Until a better solution can be worked out , this one can do the job.
Thank you
