...and the world was never the same...

Thanks John, Paul, George, and Ringo for the great music, memories, and fun....

Just noise.

I do appreciate them for their wit. Apparently in an interview they were asked why their songs had senseless lyrics in them.

In response they wrote I am the walrus.

still over-rated and over played after 50 years.

used to love the beatles but then i got out of 4th grade lol JK

the problem i have is not really with the band or their music - its just that i cant listen to a solid hour of oldies radio without hearing a large dose of these guys.

sure they were a big deal back when but look at all the old videos of the huge crowds of screaming girls... they were the original boy band justin bieber bunch.

just not my thing.

Huge Stones fan myself, also...

Did you know the first Stones single had an "A" side cover of Chuck Berry's "Come On" and the "B" side was written by a pair of modest songwriting friends of the Stones; the song was "I Wanna Be Your Man" (Lennon/McCartney)...

(and, yes, the Stones version, IMHO, is the better of the two...)

I'm an everybody fan, for the most part. Whoever you like, don't forget that the Beatles really did pave the way for everyone who followed. Lennon, McCartney and Harrison really were creative geniuses. So were others, but they deserve their due.

I grew up listening to and enjoying the Beatles way back and to me they set the stage for so many that followed after them.

As a teenager, I was a big Stones fan and thought the Beatles were pretty lame.

Until Rubber Soul. That and Revolver are my favourite Beatles' albums. To me they represent a huge leap in Pop music. Good songs, good production and a feeling that even better work was coming. And it was.

I agree with you on that Jim, loved the Beatles and the British Invasion of the 60's!
