Soundproblems
:salute: all captains!
Have a problem with Stormys DBSM. :wah: You can see my mod list in my signature without the DBSM Mod, i only deinstall the capthelms Mod, DBSM music and speech fixes and instead install stormys Base and the fix. I also tried it with the all sound .sdl. Can't get it work. I can hear the DBSM Speech and other sounds, but when i fire a torp i only here the speech, but not the torp door opening and the launch sound. Think it could be because my system specs, inteL i7, 4gb, win7 64bit. I use the NewUi by TDW 7.1.0, try it with key command and by clicking directly with the mouse. When i Open the related files i can hear the Sound correct. Has anyone the same issue, or have an idea:06: thanks in advance |
Try to use the 'All sounds mod' by Volodya61, may be that will help. The link is in OHII thread (post 1):salute:
|
Thx vlad:salute:
Tried it, doesn't change anything:hmmm: |
yeah, I think, especially if you are putting OH II after the DBSM mod, it overwrites the Sh.sdl file, rendering all the DBSM changes to it useless.
You can use the sdl merger that TDW wrote and combine all the sounds. Just remember that some of them might overwrite each other, so it's not exactly straight forward. |
Thx Targor,
I will try, but i thought that the all sounds sdl will combine OHII, stormys and lifeboats:hmmm: |

OHII`s sdl file is allready compatible with SDBSM, same for NewUI`s, SDBSM have to be installed before those mods above. not shure if OHII deliver a SDBSM compatible sdl file in its normal release files (it does with older releases), but ithink i had a look on this optional "all sound mods sdl file" which included SDBSM nessesary entry`s correct. i also tested that latest OHII release using this "all sounds mods sdl file" and the latest NewUI`s, not having any problem`s with it so far. ...say what happens if you switch torp settings from the scopes menues, do you have sounds while switching torp speed, pistol, single to multi shoot switches ? do you have sounds while opening / closing the torp doors ? |

My apologies for confusion. |

I tried to install it before OHII and NewUI by TDW and between, with the all Sound sdl and without. I can't hear sound from switching Speed, open or close torp doors, pistol or anything else. Only the babbeling when hit a ship or do other things. The voices i can here, also the Sound of the deck Gun, or when a ship is fireing at me. Can it be something with the command.cfg. Have One in the Deutschmod, but Ruby and echolot say it work with the DBSM. Don't know where i have to start to solve the Problem. :(((( |
It could be the speakers. Once i brought new speakers (logitech 5n1 surround sound) all those sounds i never knew existed before, came to life. I just about fainted at the epic-ness first time hearing the sounds :haha: And my sound card is just the common Realtek AC97 onboard, the new speakers made a hell of a diference.
Im running OHII and SDBSM mods |

So i think to have say sorry, buy New speakers and will report the outcome. |
:salute:
New Sound System is installed. Any Way, better sound.:yeah: But now i can here the torp opening in the background, also the switches, Voice is louder. But when i'am using the UZO and firering a torp i can't still here the torp, like playing it manual under windows:hmmm: Have i stay close to the Tube to here the sound like playing manual:06: |
:salute: @ all
After some testings, merge sh.sdl, used all sounds .sdl, i canīt get the torp sound running. All other sound i can hear. :hmmm: Itīs not satisfactory but at the moment i have to be satisfied with the "torpedo los" to know the torp is running. :( |

the torp launch sound is a low frequency, low volume sound... it could be that it is hard to hear while on the bridge heaving high speeds and or heavy weather. i also lowered the external diesel sound volume using "Silent 3ditor", as i think the external diesel sound is to loud in my public releses. (Submarine.UB9.Engine.DieselEx set volume to 90,0) |
