Which Daleks are better?
I prefer the new Daleks, as the colours make it easier to distinguish between ranks.
I remember watching the two Peter Cushing movies, and dreaming up different ranks for all the large, multi coloured Daleks! |

No, I much prefer the old Bronze ones, they look more like war machines to me than the Mighty Morphin Power Daleks. Although they've lost a lot of their fearsomeness over the years, and the size of the plot-holes in the last Dalek episode of Moffats...well you could drive Skaro through them. In fact, most of Moffats stories have had me scratching my head in bewilderment at the holes in them. Pity, really, because he has done some good stories, 'Silence in the Library' and 'The Empty Child' were quite good, and 'Blink' was good. However since he took over control of Eleven his writing has suffered IMHO through trying to cram too much into too short a time and as such leaving giant plot holes that one hopes he'll resolve further down the line. |
I thought that you were asking about the original ones or the ones created by davros. I prefer the original story!
But previous to the "power ranger daleks", color daleks appeared through the show, mainly the leaders/emperor, etc. (written at the same time that Oberon post). @Oberon, yes, but the last two episodes were quite good! |
Yeah, but I find the Bronze Daleks are getting really, really boring.
I saw this video on youtube that has a cool new Dalek design: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7n6HJpayvlY They should make those ones! |
I prefer the originals.

@cybermat I prefer that design in the video to the remade design. It's a nice mix between the new 'shiny' design and the war machine style of the Bronze ones. :yep: |

On another note, I quite like the idea of the new Daleks being an officer class! |
The old ones

I'll stick with the old originals thanks.

I don't like the big fat new Daleks and thankfully this years opening episode of Dr Who..Asylum of the Daleks saw plenty of the Bronze ones. As for the classic Daleks well I have to go to the classic all Grey look.
And as for Davros well that goes to his first showing in the story Genesis of the Daleks. He was far more sinister in that one. |
What in blue blazes are you people talking about?

The New ones - :)

Oh, you were serious? Sorry. Doctor Who premiered on the BBC on November 23, 1963 - the day after President Kennedy was shot. It was aimed at children, but had a lot of adult themes. It alternated between science fiction and history, and the Daleks were the first aliens in the show, first appearing from episodes 4-11 of that first season. They made the show an instant hit, and have reappeared many times over the ensuing decades, building a huge backlog of their own history. The show ran consistently for 26 seasons, then after a break and a TV movie returned to the air in 2005. It is currently as popular as ever. The show ran long enough that the overall story was allowed to develop at a leisurely pace. The Doctor was originally described only as an alien. The other villains Cybermat has started a thread about, the Cybermen, didn't make their first appearance until season four. We didn't find out about the Doctor's race, the Time Lords, until the end of season six. The Doctor's arch-nemesis, The Master, didn't show up until season eight. I've been a fan of the show since 1984, and own every episode of the original and the new series, except for the current season. For more information, just google it. |
Hey, I saw an Imperial Guard Dalek from Evil of the Daleks, An original Dalek from The Daleks, A gunmetal-Grey Dalek from Genesis of the Daleks, The Special-Weapons Dalek from Remembrance of the Daleks, and the Dalek from The Five Doctors in Asylum of the Daleks!
I love Steven Moffat! |
