The Iranian auto Industry

To tell the truth , I didn't know mch about it. I was reading an article about how the sanctions are making their currency fall, and they mentioned how hard the sanctions are hitting their auto industry, with a lot of layoffs of workers.
I looked up their auto website, and their cars don't look that bad. Not sure how reliable they are, but have some nice looking cars! On their main page, they change pictures so you can see the different models they make.

I know a lot of the vehicles they produce are copies (licenced or otherwise) of French and Italian cars and trucks.

I know the IRCG seems to like Iveco trucks.

If they'd make copies of older model defenders, hi-luxes, cherokees or other 4x4s and not this modern SUV comfort over sturdines crap, I'd buy one.

But you already have a reliable car, :hmmm:

That doesn't have 4x4, is only 12cm off the ground and is slowly being eaten away by rust :-?

I need an offroad car, that has a modern high-mileage engine, newer rust resistant steel, but it's basic and tough like the first defenders and has no useless electronics and comforts like the new gaylander

Okay, I ran for some six years ago, a Volvo Crossroads turbo (4x4) Diesel, it went well, higher ground clearance time, and low fuel consumption ..... but on the other hand you could actually do something about the rust, it told you last :agree:

No idea what it's like now but I was over there in 77 during the reign of the Shar and a lot of the cars were Hillman Hunters, shipped over in crates from the UK.

I bet it drives great in sand.
;)
All seriousness, bring it here.

Can it compete with Ford, Dodge, Chevy, Hyandai (sp?) Toyota, Honda, etc.?
Can it invoke competitive pricing, you know the gears of capitalism?

I forgot, dey got nook-yoo-lar weapon.

Well so do we... And we invaded more countries than they have...
