Radio spam

I keep getting spammed with radio messages in GWX. You know, reports from other subs and things. The news is interesting, but I don't much care if some submarine has sunk some ship or other 5.000km away from where I am, especially since it doesn't effect the game in any way. They're realistic sure, but when you're trying to get somewhere and you just get a load of messages that slow you right down to x1, it's a pain in the butt.

Sometimes I want to reply to them with "calm down you lunatics, stop sending me messages every 10 minutes, leave me alone" :b

So is there any way to change the way new messages affect the time compression, or disable them all together?
Thanks!

There are many ways that range from mods to taking your radio man out of the shack.

I certainly consider the messages to be of more value than 'spam'.

One man's spam is another man's immersion? :har:

I find it odd how, when I was assigned U-47, I got the radio report signalling the U-47's loss.

And after that career ended with a gas leak stranding me in the mid Atlantic, I restarted in '39 with U-51....While shadowing a convoy...U-51 radio's me of the convoy I'm stalking.

Did someone allow Balz into BdU HQ?

It's a training technique designed to freak you out so much that you will go crazy and waltz into a British harbor and destroy everything.

Hi Aviv,

:hmmm:...why don't you move the radio operator to rest? It reduces the radio compatment's efficiency but, you can always put him back latter if need be.

Woolfman

As has been pointed out, the radio messages are there for immersion purposes, to make you feel like you are not alone. They are real transmissions, and there is no way to have ones with your own number not appear, except to go through and remove them yourself.

It is a strange feeling though...I checked out the messages long ago and aim for a number that isn't included.
