SH3 GWX 3.0 campaign saves dissapeared
Well first of all since it's my first post just wanted to say hi!
Second, I've got a problem with my game saves - they are not detected in game, even though they are present in the saves folder in my documents. After some trials and errors, I noticed that my patrols_0.cfg file is empty. I copied that file from another profile's folder and obviously since the dates and literally everything didn't match with my main campaign, it didn't quite work. It did however detect three of my many saves. When launched those saves where a nonsense, with sub types, flotilla's name and crew skills completely different, not to mention the 500 renown and patrols history missing. So my question is - can I "rescue" that campaign, or do I have to start from a scratch? Also, what could have caused the patrols_0.cfg file's corruption? If anyone's interested, here's the link for my corrupted profile's folder: http://uploaded.net/file/ybeem4mb |
Something seems to have become corrupt, it is of course to go back to previous saves, if you've played long enough so that it is possible to just "rewind the tape" and welcome to SubSim :salute: btw how was your install of GWX?

Welcome aboard Donlol.
You might find the solution to your problem here http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...ht=saved+games . Make sure you scroll down to the later posts. Nemo |
I download your saves now, :yep:

Hmm I've created a new dummy - profile few days ago, not even knowing this could be a solution. However that didn't work for me. The saves from the other profile can be loaded with no problems, my main one however remains inaccesible. I've also tried adding an 'x' to profile's name, didn't help. The patrols_0.cfg file remains empty no matter I do.
Oh btw sory for creating a duplicate thread, I suck at using "search" apparently :| Quote:

Can you go back in time, then something may be corrupt .... in some cases, a new install will be done....OK then you are experienced in the field GWX.
|
I tried cutting out older saves, messed around with logs and that patrols_0.cfg file, but that didn't help much. Also yeah, I've reinstalled the whole game yesterday, didn't help either. Seems my case is hopeless.

When you did the installation on x86, patched it or did not need it, because it seems like you can play for a while, and then get a bit of trouble.

If you're asking about formatting my pc I did it like half a year ago.
The game was patched to a required version (1.04b I think?). The problem came out all of sudden - I finished playing and saved one evening (I've completed 9 or 10 patrols this far) and the next day I couldn't load any of the saves from that profile. There were no crashes nor any error messages when I did quit the game. I've made a new profile and saved the game on it - there's no problems with loading it. Edit: Oh you asked about installing the game... Well it's been running smooth for approx 5 months now. |
Do you use SH3 Commander when playing...
|
I'll save you a little time in multiple exchanges if I may Donlol...if your patrols file doesn't respond to adding an 'x' to ots title then the file is corrupt and most likely beyond repair....I'd advise a fresh installation.
SH3Commander does not change any files. |
