SH 3 Career Player promotions
 

Hello guys, nice to meet ya.

I ve been playing the game for years now. Well i restarted it...

So my question is as follows.

Which are the promotions that are given to the player?

Right now I am Lieutenant Commander (KapitanLeutnant) and i feel im never gonna get promoted. (Like i got everything in 3 patrols and then no promotion for me).

I have sunk 2.172.000 tonnage and i play at 65% realism and i have 64k renown. I m in 1942 and at 30th patrol. Also I have only the Iron crosses and the Knights cross with golden leaves oaks, diamonds and swords.... But nothing more!!!

I dont play with mods only with the patch 1.4b.

So what is going on with my Kaleun? thanks for helping me :) Im trying to find anything on the forum but noone says anything aboyt promotions!

Hi there and welcome aboard

In stock game you never get promoted past Kptnltnt.

Use SH3 Commander (not a mod but a stand alone program which works outside SH3 and lets you modify the game very easily) and check here

It's good to see that people still restart playing SH3 even though it's a 7-year-old game and there have even been two sequels since its release.

What about just using the GWX with no SH3 Commander? I modified the files as said, but still no promotion.

I did the modifications as said, and changed the numbers to allow for even faster promotions. Game refused to load. Then I went back in and changed it to the original settings, and both my flotilla and rank spots on SH3 are still saying "Error!" and "Error! Error!" respectively. Just tried reinstalling SH3 Commander to no avail. Then tried uninstalling SH3 Commander altogether and just running on GWX 3.0 and it refused to load. I think I screwed up my brilliant career. But then again, that's about my luck. Copied my career file to my desktop and reinstalled both SH3 and GWX 3.0. Still not working. Tried deleting my hard work career to see if that worked. Nada. So I again uninstalled both SH3 and GWX 3.0 and started with a clean slate. Once again, nothing. I'm about to give up and just play a stock game.

I was wondering the same thing. I am on my 20th patrol and still am a LT. ZS. Will I ever get promoted?
