Creating new career base
Any chance someone can give me some guidance on how to create a new Naval base and make it a career starting point?
I started dabling in SH4 mission editor but don't know if I should save as scripted, rnd etc, and also have no clue where the ENUM's come from in flotillas.upc. Can anyone help ? TIA. |
Can anyone out there help me .... I am especially stuck working out where to get these numbers from;
DepartureDescription1= 973018.000000, 6420884.000000, 160.0000 DepartureDescriptionOut1= 983565.000000, 6424500.000000, 000.0000 In flotillas.upc Plus; EntryFocalPointLong=16095615.000000 EntryFocalPointLat=1730000.000000 IN dynamicmiss.cfg I can't see a way in mission editor to display coordinates from the map ... so I'm stuck with how to work out these numbers. |

In SH4 you should only use normal missions, even for the career. Quote:
No idea about the stuff in dynamicmiss.cfg |
Many thanks ..... for the coordinate references in LAT & LONG .... your post caused me to look for them on the bottom of the SH4 mission editor window .... and the reason I couldn't see them was my poxy window, when maximized, always seems to overlap the bottom with my quick launch bar ... so I was never seeing the coordinates, unitl I downsized the window .... hence my confusion.
Still ... if you hadn't replied, I'd never have gone back and taken a closer look ... so many thanks :yeah: |
OK, so new issue ... I opened US_navalbases.mis in SH4 mission editor and added a new naval base ... when I try to save it it givs an error ... which is no player unit defined. Now this is obviously just a file loaded in conjunciton with others to form the basis of the campaign ... so how do I save it with a new base added ?
Any ideas ? Thx. |

I think I found a workaround ... just added a single player unit to the US navalbases.mis file and saved. Launched, selected the base, and started outside harbour ... and it matched the coordinates I looked up in mission editor ... and it worked :D

OK, great, thanks, I'll do that and remove my workaround :-)
