U-51 my love...
 

Okay, so I used promotion points to make the motor officer "more proficient" at tuning the engines. As a result I can make my beloved U-51 do a whooping 25 knots surfaced and 11 submerged.

Now when given command of a new sub these attributes do not carry over. Is this my game glitching or is that just how it is? Because it wont let me post those same promotion points twice.

Any thoughts?

i think with a new sub you get a new crew or the crew is maybe reset to defaults so that could be your problem

No, it's a glitch. Just yesterday I was transferred from U-51 to U-69, and all the crew abilities carried over.
Don't worry, you command U-69 for most of the war (July 1940 - January 1943)

Thats discouraging. I'm WAY to far in to restart the campaign. I've sunk way to many ships to quit now. U-51 will have to do.
