Regarding Radio Communications...
Does anyone have any information regarding how to properly model a WWII era U.S. submarine message. For example, I am aware that "X" was used as a period/fullstop (I think?). Any information on accurate historical composition would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Dick O'Kane in his Wahoo book has a couple of examples. I only have the Kindle version, so I can't quote a page number, but check around the end of the third patrol for a famous one. Don't know how much they have been altered for hagiography, but the format should be accurate, I think Ned Beach may have quoted some in his book, too.

Thanks for the speedy reply. While I appreciate the information/recommendations, what I'm looking for is more of a definitive guide or manual (doesn't matter if said information was made during the war, as long as the information pertains to WWII) that outlines the proper syntax, codes, etc.
