Wow. Inevitable, but always kind of shocking when you lose an icon of American and world history such as Armstrong. May he rest in peace.

Requiescat in pace :Kaleun_Salute:

Indeed Tak, no-one lives forever, but it's still a helluva shock when they do pass away.
RIP good sir, I'm afraid I missed seeing the landing live, but the legacy lives on. http://i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/...g_1416675c.jpg |

Very sad to hear. He did this interview in Australia a few months ago and seemed fine considering his age.

Really sad to hear the news.

I was only 4 years old when it happened- But I remember my dad told me about it and how my parents, their neighbors and the rest of the little town, was gathered to watch the moon landing in the local assembly homes

It happens that I didn't even know he was still alive myself. http://img15.hostingpics.net/pics/172673uglytock.gif
Rest in peace and all that stuff. |
It was black and white, and a poor quality video but it's something I'll always remember.
Rest in Peace. |
I know Apollo 11 was a group-even national effort, but Neil was always one of my heroes, along with Ned Beach. Rest in Peace, Neil, and thanks. They don't make them like you anymore.

RIP Neil
I was a wee laddie of 10 when I watched the event live on our B/w Telly.. Cheers Gary |
