Microsoft trying its best to make Windows 8 a fail
http://www.computerworld.com/s/artic..._desktop_hacks
Pushing it down customer's throats by all force possible. This will help tremendously in an already fantastic concept, no doubt. If you end up as somebody having bought Windows 8, I express my condolences already now, in advance. :shucks: |
Nothing in the linked article about M$ making users adopt W8. W8 is simply a move toward what M$ wants - cloud based computing. Its why W8 is a great semi-mobile OS - for a netbook as an example - but is not geared to business. W7 has been a huge success - M$ is just continuing its legacy of releasing a bad OS after a good one.

Well for those who dont want to make the big swtich to 8 there is always
Windows 8 Transformation pack for XP/vista & 7. Looks like 8 acts like 8 but isn't 8. http://www.windowsxlive.net/windows-...k-5.0-released I tried it for a few days just to see what this metro thingy was all about, which i thought was a pretty neat idea, you have your desktop then switch over to Metro for the internet. |
Windows, windows, windows, :har:
I just setup Ubuntu as an experiment, first time boot, bang on the button, impressive. I have been thinking about a home based server seeing as I have a spare PC, Ubuntu comes out quite well here. I'll have to look at this deeper but first impressions are favourable. |
