Protractor wrong angle!?

Hello

Fellow sailors , I am having a problem with my ingame protractor . It sems like it is not ginving me the rights angles and it is a problem when plotting straight runs and intercepts. When it shows 90degree it more looks like 100degree. I could have corrected this substracting 10 degree, but the error is not linear (Y=ax+b) I actually have to use a real prostractor on my computer screen sometimes.

have any of you had a similar problem?

If this has been posted before I apologize and i wil remove the post.

G'day Oscar,

Wow, that's one hell of a first post! You are obviously not a newcomer to subsimming eh?

I believe this is due to that your game is visualized on a Widescreen-monitor 16:9, but the game itself is in 4:3 format, thus is 90 degree angles appearing wider/smaller. Test this by using your protractor along the grid lines of the map. That should confirm it

Yep, Just did a crude test at a couple of diferent resolutions with a piece of paper :D; two perpindicular lines at NW and SW showed ~100 degrees in wrong resolution, and ~90 degrees in windowed mode, both showed 90 degrees when placed on grid lines.

Now to remember how to change resolution :88)!

Thanks for reply kaleuns.

I was thinking that it had to be something with the res. I guess I will have to use the res mod to change it right?

Or run in windowed mode, as it's a waste not too with multiple monitors.

I know Nvidia drivers have the option to scale it with maintaining aspect ratio. (Nvidia control panel/Adjust desktop size and position)

The image is a bit blurry, but for me that is less of a problem than oval circles. I have no experience with these highres/widescreen mods.
