Re-installing problem
This morning I had a nasty CTD problem after trying to install the GWX Classic 1360x768 GUI.
Not even restoring helped, so I decided to uninstall everything and start anew. But it seems I can't eliminate completely some traces of the old install, as the installation program says I should choose between "modify", "repair" and "uninstall" (uninstal has been performed regularly, all files and registry entries have been cleaned afterwards -- at least apparently). As far as now I have a new, working install of SH3 vanilla (from the downloadable version EMEA): but I can't patch it to 1.4b because I get an "unknown version" error for the MissionEngine.dll file. Which means I am stuck. Running on Win 7 Home Premium -- and till yesterday it worked like a breeze... Any clue, Kamaraden? A grounded Kaleun... HB |
Try running a registry cleaner to get rid of all the cr*p in the registry, and try manually deleting the SH3 folder in C:

Did that, it worked. No I'm at sea again. Gute Jagd HB |
