Name of the book?

Well I use to read that book looooong time ago as a kid... it's the fictional story about a captain of a Royal Navy submarine named "Trout" and he is trying to catch newest (nuclear powered :)) prototype of German U-boat... anybody remembers the name of the book?

I don't know that book but I would surely like a nuclear powered Uboot in 1944 - 5 !!!! :D

dont know how old you are but, could it be 'Go In And Sink' by Douglas Reeman. the british sub is called Tristram ???

the book was also known as 'His Majesty's U-Boat.'

Well by short reviews... I don't think so...no... sorry, but it was published 1984... I was 10 years old then... all I remember he (the main character, the captain) managed to destroy that nuclear U-boat in some Norwegian fiord... or was it some island...secret base of that U-boat...:hmmm: i.e. set it on fire... and he comes back after the war as an old man to see her one more time...the name of his sub was Trout I'm 100% sure...I remembered it because it was pretty funny name for a sub...

1984 narrows it down a bit. :)
