Radar Issue
 

Whenever I try to use any of the two radars in Silent Hunter 4, a red line appears then slowly fades away. What does this mean? Sorry if this is a double post.

What are you playing, U Boats or Fleetboats?

Are you playing V1.4 or the U boat mission add on?

Are you running any Mods?

What year are you playing in?

Where does the red line appear on the radar screens?

We may be able to help you but need this information.

Not sure if this is the answer to your problem or not. But when you go to the radar stations they will STOP sweeping, you have to click on the switch to turn on the sweep.

You can either click on the "continuous sweep" button on the command bar, or click on the "focus/sweep" switch on the radar panel itself. This will get the red line moving/sweeping.

Haven't played stock V1.4 in a long time but as donna said click the focus/sweep button to sweep the radar. In focus mode the Page up and Page down keys will move the radar. As far as I remember the red line should not fade out but the contact blips will until you sweep over them again.

It might be the "home" and "end" keys that move the radar, I think the "page up" and "page down" keys are to raise and lower the attack scope.

You can also click on the radar scope itself to move the beam while in focus mode.
