Can't get into missions until I close this process
I circled it-shows in Task Manager. All I did was a few Name and Roster changes. Now even when I go back to the back up files I can't start any mission until I close Message but reads as SH4 Message in the toolbar [you can see it way below in the screencapture]-whatever that is????? No message displays but it runs along with the SH4 exe. When I close it I can then get the mission to start in the sub control room as normal.
Mission bar loads---> Find'em, Chas'em, Sink'em message screen---> then it freezes. I open Task Manager-->close SH4 Messenge then I can start. Any suggestions how to fix this. Running TMO 2.5 and FOTRS and some minor mods. I removed them with the Generic Mod Enabler and it still happens. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...Untitled-3.jpg |
Its probably some error message, you need to switch to it to read it. But if you did some changes in sea or roster folders, and you messed something, starting mission editor should give you these warnings too, and you may be able to fix it.

Peaboby You are the MAN! Thanks. ALT-TAB gave me the keys to the Kingdom.:) Now what was the message-it was weird. It said I was missing a dds file-no biggie so I'd just go back to a 3 year old DATA file from SH4 in my old computer to copy and paste. ezzy peezy. hmmm no. I didn't have that file. Long and short I just created the dds file. {blue highlight in screen capture} Its a dds file of the name on the ID books. I just copied one-gave it the name and pasted leatherette texture over the name. Weird. Game asked for a file that never existed.
Must have did something wrong with a country-funny thing is-all my vessels show in the museum and the museum never froze up-and All my missions loaded normal except for the first one when the game started. Thanks again Peabody. Going to bed now-it's after 12. Oh yeah I have SH4 in 3 different locations Program X86, Programs and C\Ubisoft (thought it was a hard drive location caused error) and always got the same error-turned off developer debugging in the SH4 config file in Documents(then set to read only), video settings etc etc ton of other attempts to solve this problem. So the missions play-but still will investigate what caused this. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3.../1Untitled.jpg |

If so, that is a NO NO. :nope: and may be the cause of the error message. Magic |

Good fun. I swore I would stay away from tweaking this game but... For my own use-Damn game hack won't show up on sonar (maybe dsd problem-something not related to parent-driving me crazy trying to kill this bug)-but damn she blows up good. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3.../stdafloat.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...est555/std.jpg |
I'm very leery about adding ships. I downloaded a large passenger/freighter thingy once and the game played fine but the ship didn't. It wouldn't hold station in a convoy. Convoy zigged and the added ship just went straight.
I shot the convoy with the bow tubes and than turned the stern towards the stray and set up a vector analysis shot and missed, I NEVER miss this type of shot. What I found was the ship not only wouldn't hold station but speed as well. It just keep slowing till it would eventually stop. :o A nice fat target but I had to take it back out. Magic |
