Game quits on its own
 
so whenever i've played 1-2 hours, the game quits and i go back to the ubisoft launcher and it thinks i quited the game, rather annoying,

cant use debugview, doesnt work for me dont know why, it doesnt say anything when i try to use it

i've always had this problem and last time i used debug view to see what the problem was, i think it said(not 100% sure, was couple of months ago) User Quit

it doesnt matter whetever im in map mode or on the deck with my binocs, or where i am on the map, completly random, its starting to piss me off, i wanna play for more then 1 hour without having to redo 30-60min progress.

anyone know how to fix this?

sounds like your running out of temp memory storage space, clean out your temp files and run disk cleaner and defrag before playing at that should solve the issue

This used to happen to me all the time. There seemed to be a problem with the saved game files being corrupted. I noticed that I could play on certain save files for only a few minutes before a crash to game launcher, and on other saves it wouldn't crash at all.

I stopped saving over files (create new save every time) and never load from Auto-Saves. The only exception should be the Enter Bunker Autosave which is stable. When I see an Autosave I just use it as a reminder to pause the game and make a new save.

I Keep at least three but usually four saves at least before I start deleted them because every once in awhile a save will still be garbage. That way I only lose 15 minutes or so, and not 15 days.

Anyways after I started doing it like this, the game stability went from completely random to 99% stable.

Its true we don't know his computer specs, however, I was getting the same kind of crashes and my computer can handle SH5 no problem. After crashes I would look at memory usage and CPU logs etc and not even half of my 8 gigs of ram or more than 50% CPU usage would ever be used. So it definitely wasn't a graphics problem. I also run ARMAII, BF3 and COD with maxed out sliders and have never had any performance issues.

It was the saved files that worked... for me anyway.

doubt it has anything to do with my pc running out of memory

freshly installed copy of winblows 7 x64 ultimate
8Gb 1800mhz Ram
3.6 ghz quad core cpu

i'll try saving as you said lilpooper see if it works
i always save over the same file

still randomly quits, did manage to play 4hours and 30min think the constant saving helped alot

Sounds like Modsoup to me, random crashes like that. Post your mod order etc, you've got plenty of RAM.

If JSGME becomes 'non-responsive' during a mod install, let it finish on its own, uninstall the mod & reinstall it until JSGME doesn't hang while loading. This helps cut down on mod install errors. Also worth removing all mods and adding them one by one to see if it's one particular mod causing the crashes.

SH5 is a 32 bit game . thts why when you do the specs check it only recognises 4 gigs .

@Orpheus got Open Horizion, JSGME did become unresponsive, im not new to using JSGME, i know its just to wait
but it "Quits" even if i got no mods installed, the game doesnt become unresponsive, it doesnt give me a lag spike, it just quits, like i click "Exit to Windows"

@Sober is that compatible with Open Horizon?

Well I'm not going to lie. Playing for 4 1/2 hours seems pretty good :). I guess anything more than three hours and I'm never surprised if it craps out on me.

got 6 hours yesterday, not a single crash:D
i now never load a save while out, only when in port
unless the game crashes, load in and keep on rolling^^

Hey Jelkan,

hope its ok that I hijack your thread. I have the same problems with my game and hope someone can help me.

I frequently get CTDs without any Message from the game or Windows. I followed the advises in this thread, without any improvement of the situation. Im able to sink one ship in the baltic, but not long after this it is over.

After the horrible launch of SHV i didnt even look at it for 2 Years. With the great mods invented in this time i was hopefull to get at least a little bit of fun out of it. but im not able to get it running stable and im 1 step away from burning this damn steelbox and send it back to ubisoft :wah:
