So thankful I updated to 1.5 & questions

I bought the steam version of the game a little over a week ago to try the game out since I couldn't find a demo any wheres and since I have been lurking here since and finally created an account here. Well last night I decided to get the U boat missions and all I can say is WOW. There is so many differences from 1.4 to 1.5. I can now tell what ports/cities are in enemy hands. Anyways I seem to be rambling. My questions I have are: Do battles(Coral Sea, Midway etc...) happen in the stock game? Also are their any different radio stations in the stock game besides "Washington 22.0" or whatever the frequency is? Also with the radio if I wanted add extra radio stations to it with mods from here how hard is it?

WELCOME ABOARD! :sunny:

Yes, some things are represented in stock, but one of the supermods will serve you much better. Both of the biggies (RFB and TMO) offer a lot of changes, and RSRD will recreate the real Pacific campaign for you.

I mostly play the Atlantic side, and OM fills out a full u-boat campaign nicely.

Flying Duc(?)thman

With stock, TMO, GFO and RFB you can enable RSRDC. RSRDC has all the major battles. I believe GFO only works with an older version of RSRDC (i.e. 1.4?)

Can we call you the Duc of Death? I assume that you misspelled Dutchman to determine if we were awake.

If you like v1.5, you'll love the mods for it. Most SH 4 discs would long ago have been consigned to living out their days as expendable drink coasters, were it not for the excellent mods featured here.

Once again, another unwary, English freighter is torpedoed by the ever lurking, sinister, vocabulary submarine. Man the lifeboats! A's, E's, I's, O', and U's first!

I guess you'll have to now lol, I must have had Fat Finger syndrome last creating my account that and I was kinda tired(probably no way to change it is there?). Also anyone have input on the radio stations? Seems the only one I get is "Washington" even when sitting in Tokyo harbor. And about the mods I'm not to sure if there I want to dive into them just yet wanna get the hang of 1.5 over 1.4 ATM

Ask in this forum. An administrator can change it for you.

Or we can just call you Ducty, or Ductape. :D

I like the Duc of Death. PM Neal Stevens if you cannot live with your handle, although it is a classic in my opinion.

Try Fred8615's link for radio stations
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...highlight=fred

His subsim download page has some radio stations throughout the 4 pages:

This post sums up my novice confusion with the plethora of acronyms in SH4! :o

Duc of Death reminds me of the film The Unforgiven.

actually GFO has a patch to work with RSRDC v401 while the latest RSRDC version is v550

it has been reported to me that there are no side effects from using the latest RSRDC v550 with GFO and if any were actually found they would be simple minor game fixes would just be missing the corrections of GFO and not noticed anyway
