McCain: 'They cry out for our help
http://www.cnn.com/video/?hpt=hp_t2#...plea.senate-tv
Two quotes come to mind: - "I'm fed up to the ears with old men dreaming up wars for young men to die in." - "War is old men talking and young men dying" It disgusts me to see how anyone in congress would want to commit us to another conflict instead of worrying about our own people and our own numerous problems. Old Man McCain, wanting to plunge us into another damn war, that is none of our business and not our problem. |
I am not aware of anything in Syria that is worth a single American life.
There are over 200 countries in the world, I think it is time to allow some of them to act as the savoir of the downtrodden. Yeah I am a cold heartless bastage when it comes to sacrificing American lives. |
Agreed. They want another islamic regime established? Let them spill their own blood over it, then. Not ours. We just sit and watch when Chrsitian get massacred by Islamists in Nigeria. We sit and watch when Christian tribes get massacred and expelled by Islamic militias in Sudan. But for Syria we should get involved? And when Saudi Arabia has the nerve to tell the world that in case it runs out of oil in the future it expects to be financially compsnated by Europe and the US whiule it poumps billions into Wetsern Islamic recruitment centers and ideology training academies, then I only can hint at this fantastic great wonderfull body named Arab League to plan and pay for an intervention of their own. Modern weapons we have sold them certainly more than enough.

Ah, had it from here (McCain).
Very good sentences. |
And wasn't McCain a POW in Vietnam?! He should know better :shifty:

Another reason I don't want the GOP in office, same old invade another nation, set up puppet regimes and big profits for coporations. In the end both sides turn on us.
Oh, the better days when one party had the whitehouse and the other congress and actually worked together... Can you imagine Palin as president, be like Bloody Mary all over again, God and war.:salute: I think we would do better with an honest King. |

I think I agree with Russians here. Bashar al-Assad maybe ruthless, cruel, blood thirsty dictator but still he is better option than chaos that most likely will follow if foreign nations intervene against him.
Except ofcourse if United States Army is willing to spend next 10+ years playing police in Syria... |

Syria is their only remaining military base in the Mediterranean. That's all they are after. And if the current status is not already chaos, then I may have a wrong understanding of the term. |
War is the economic backbone of America.
