It disgusts me to see how anyone in congress would want to commit us to another conflict instead of worrying about our own people and our own numerous problems.

Old Man McCain, wanting to plunge us into another damn war, that is none of our business and not our problem.

I am not aware of anything in Syria that is worth a single American life.

And when Saudi Arabia has the nerve to tell the world that in case it runs out of oil in the future it expects to be financially compsnated by Europe and the US whiule it poumps billions into Wetsern Islamic recruitment centers and ideology training academies, then I only can hint at this fantastic great wonderfull body named Arab League to plan and pay for an intervention of their own. Modern weapons we have sold them certainly more than enough.

Oh let's do 4 more years of this guy, this congress won't work till we get the radical left out of there, I don't see any difference in what Obama is doing now, than what Bush did, except Buch wasn't a commie. Remember the Dems were in power of congress since 06 so remember that before you blame anybody. Obama liked what Bush did so much that's why he doubled the national debt in 4 years.

I think I agree with Russians here. Bashar al-Assad maybe ruthless, cruel, blood thirsty dictator but still he is better option than chaos that most likely will follow if foreign nations intervene against him.

Except ofcourse if United States Army is willing to spend next 10+ years playing police in Syria...

The Russians don't mind chaos, and they give %§$"$& for Assad or the Syrian people.

Syria is their only remaining military base in the Mediterranean. That's all they are after.

Excellent point. One can't assume that a rebellion will result in an improvement. It may be a case of "we just want OUR sob in charge, not YOUR sob.

I don't disagree with you. You are absolutely correct on Russians ultimate motive. What I mean is that for Russian Federation status quo (= al-Assad in power) is currently best option. They want to keep their naval base there (priority one) and they want to make sure that there is atleast somewhat friendly regime in place. If west removes al-Assad from equation without putting boots into ground there will be struggle for power. In such situation nobody can say for sure what will be an outcome and thats last thing Russians want. In worst case scenario Russia could end up losing its base and having new hostile islamist stronghold to worry about.

Can't see we have a SOB of our own in the match there. Not Assad. Not the opposition. And Israel probably only hopes for Assad, if it does, due to predictability of the status quo with him. Another Egypt is the last thing that they want, which is understandable.

The United States should worry about the United States first. Contrary to what the U.N. Security Council and the corrupt legislators the Corporations have bought, the Cold War is over and there is no longer a need for the United States to engage in this kind of silliness. It has never worked.

If anyone is crying out for American help, it is America's own citizens.
