The Norks have been doing similar things to manned US recon aircraft for a while. Iran gets most of its gear from North Korea so its possible.

Hmm, is it so (relatively) easy to feed wrong GPS data to a drone - imagine they would be able to take full control ?
But letting them get those things intact is bad enough :-?

typical of the cutbacks in the military that better monitoring and guidence systems havent been installed after so many years of using "old" tech to control them.


a simple gps locator signal could have given a heads up to someone that it was out of control and to trigger the self destruction of the spy drone.
