Adding a Submarine to Silent Hunter 4

Hello,

I'm new to adding submarines to my game, and i would like to know how can I use a submarine iv added in my game? Iv downloaded the program JSGME, and iv installed it to my computer as instructed. In addition, iv also downloaded the Los Angeles class mod, and the skipjack ssn mod, and iv added both subs to the JSGME program. iv activated the Los angeles class mod, now how do i or wear can i find it in the game???. would it be in career, or quick mission, or war patrol, etc. any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated . thank you.

enable one sub at the time, if you activate more different ships can cause conflicts
where you'll find theme depends more af the man who make that ship, some are career playable, some not
i think both L.A. and Skipjack are career playable from 1941, in american carrer, but i don't know what flotilla, try them
you'll find them also in single/quick missions
good luck:salute:

Okay, just to make sure, when you installed JSGME,

Did you install the contents of the folder to SH4, or the folder itself?

If so, uninstall the folder from SH4, and what I do, as it is just easier, open the JSGME folder, and copy the contents, and then paste it into the SH4 folder.

Then just create a folder in SH4 called MODS. Put your downloads in that folder, and then give it a try. If you have the room, on your desktop, before you install any mods, make a folder for your SH4 contents, and copy the Data folder from SH4 over to it, in case something doesn't work out, or you have to take a mod out, or for any other reason to save you from having to take everything out, and starting from scratch. Trust me, it makes things a lot easier in the long run!

The first time I used JSGME, I was impatient, and biffed the install. Went back and did it according to the instructions here at Subsim, and it worked out fine.

I installed the contents of the folder to C:/programfiles(x86)/ubisoft/SH4. and I did create a folder in the SH4 folder called Mods. where did I go wrong???? how do i Unistall JSGME from my cpmputer completely so i can install a clean copy and start over. Im a Beginner at this LOL LOL.

Just outta curiosity, ......... um, what version of Windowz are you using?

Ca[t White 05-30-12 08:09 PM

im using Window 7.

Okay, with Win 7, you have to do like I had to for Vista.

You can't put SH4 into ProgramFiles x86. It screws the pooch.

Uninstall SH4, and delete your SH4 folder from the Documents folder.

On your C Drive, create a folder called Games or whatever you wish.

Re-install SH4, navigating to that folder. Once you've that, reload JSGME into SH4 and all should be well.

You should be able to remove JSGME with Control Panel. I don't know what they call it Win 7, but for me it is Programs and Features. In XP I think it was just Installed Programs. So simple, but engineers, ................ grumble grumble, ...................... they love to change things.................. :shifty: :nope:

Just as a note, I have it installed on my second hard drive in a folder I called Games. I put them all in that folder, so I don't have to go searching high and low for a game I want to mod for myself.

Thank you, everything is working properly now, Now I understand. however I have another question to ask, are there submarine Interiors that I can download to match the interior of the sub that Iam using like the 688i los Angeles class submarine????.

Hylander_1314 05-31-12 04:59 PM

Glad you got it working! Now, go sink something! :D

Ooooooo, not sure on that one. I don't use modern boats.

But if memory serves, I don't think anyone has modeled a modern sub interior. But I could be wrong.

You can try a forum search in the SH4 Mods Forum. That would be your best bet. Or possibly look at the modern boats thread.

Worst case, post a question as a separate thread.
