Hi mate, I'm pretty sure ctrl-F11 don't work with GWX. Try your print screen button. If your using the res-fix mod you'll likely still have trouble tho.

Oh and welcome aboard shipmate!

Best regards.

Ctrl + F11 works for me in Win7 64 bit, running SH3 with GWX, but PrintScreen only gives me a small portion of the screen.

The resulting screen capture is stored as a .bmp file in your SH3 root directory (usually c:/program files(x86)/silenthunterIII) - the same place that holds the SH3.exe file.

You can take multiple and repeated screen captures this way, unlike with PrintScreen which can only hold one capture at a time.

You could always use a third-party screenshot program like FRAPS, the free one is perfectly adequate.

It absolutely does work perfectly with GWX. It doesn't work with certain high-res mods, which is part of the reason why I don't use one.

yeah i did use a hi-res mod.. will see if i can tweak that..cheers,

Yes sorry Steve , I did also point out that the res-fix could be causing problems tho, :D

Best regards.

Whilst on the subject of screenshots, is it possible to capture video clips, using Fraps?
I use this programme in Microsoft Train Simulator for making in sim videos, converting the video clips using Windows Movie Maker to make up a video. These can then be uploaded to YouTube etc.

Yes. Most of the Silent Hunter videos all over YouTube were made with FRAPS.

Cheers for that Steve. Will give it a try when I can find a decent convoy to play havoc with.:salute:

have taken out the hi-res mod and after that ctrl-F11 works again.. but without hi-res the graphics look too outdated.. So I chucked the hi-res mod back into the system heh.

I've played with a hi-res mod and was not impressed. I think it's better without it. But then I still sometimes play Aces Of The Deep, from 1994.

on a 27' hdmi screen the difference btwn hi-res and original res is very noticeable. But i do miss being able to take screenshots on those torpedo impact moment though :(
