Gush all you want about Facebook, Twitter and other recent tech innovations. I'd stack Polley and his TV remote against all of them.

After all, which would you be more willing to give up -- Facebook or your remote?
You can have my remote when you pry it from my cold, dead fingers.

Thanks Gene.

He should be every mans/couch potatos friend.

RIP Eugene

Satan wanted to doom man, and so he gave man the TV. But God was full of mercy, and so sent an angel and his name was Eugene.

:D

True couch cowboy changes the channel by shooting at the tv. Works better on older sturdier models.

Wow, do I ever owe this guy a big thank you!

Thanks Eugene. R.I.P.

Elvis?? Is it really you? I knew you weren't really dead...

Maybe he's not quite dead, we just need to get closer and push really hard? :hmmm:

Thank you Mr Polley.

R.I.P Mr. Polley!

My girls keep losing the bloody thing when they are home from Uni... It makes for very interesting and loud 'Dad Tirades' when I can't find it in the morning :D

Cheers

Garion

The early remotes were dangerous though: As they worked with ultrasound, having the same model as the guy living next to you, could lead to love-thy-neighbor situations. :D

When remotes are outlawed, only outlaws will have remotes.

Hitler and Stalin were both in favor of remote control control.

My kids look at me like I'm ready to be sent to the old folks home when I tell them we didn't have remotes and had to lay on the floor in front of the tv surfing thru all SIX channels (if you were lucky and the UHF channels would come in clear) by turning the knob.

Most of the time, our " remote" consisted of the person getting up to go to the batroom/kitchen and asking them to flip it over to channel x to see what was on and having them flip it back when they came back. :D

So, from the bottom of my heart-RIP Mr. Polley. :salute:

:)

Thank you Mr Polley for enabling me to sit on my arse in front of my TV and not get up and change the channel. :salute:
