B-25 for RSRD?
RSRD has the Task Force that launched the Doolittle Raid in April 1942 at the right time and place to launch.I am working on adding the airstrike to the campaign which it lacks(surprising Lurker never put it in there) as well as a stand a lone mission to release where player sub acts as a lifeguard for the raiders. While not historical to really do so, it would be fun, challenging, and interesting, since watching planes attack the ships is a lot of fun in RSRD.
I would prefer to have B-25's so do not have to use a substitute.Anyone have a B-25 model they could make into a mod so it's easily adding to RSRD? Thanks in advance |
lurker didnt like doing anything non realistic which may be why but then again there was an issue of copyrights with the B-25'sand a few other planes so thats why they werent in the stock game and could be why none were modeled for they game yet but i dont know for sure

i think the big bugaboo was in actually finding a B-25 model out there somewhere it really is a shame we dont have the B-25's and Catalina's in the game :nope: |

The stock CFS2 game had a B-25, and there has been thousands of add-on planes built later. Has anybody tried that road before? |

What copyright issue would they have with planes that are museum pieces and airshow attractions? It's just a game here.
If I knew how to set up the scale in Wings 3D, so it would import to the game properly, I would make one, with the different variants, from the standard bomber, to the harbor raiding gunships. They were very popular with George Kenny and the 5th Airforce, from raiding harbors to attacking groundforces and installations with parafrag bombs. One field mod by some enterprizing airmen, had a 75mm gun mounted to fire through the nose, but it required a crewmember to manually load each round that was fired. Pilots swore, when that thing was fired, they could feel the plane momentarily stop in mid-air from the recoil. But I would like to make Wildcats, Hellcats, P-40s, revamp the P-38, with a Pacific style colorscheme, Oscars, Georges, Tonys, Jills, and some of the more obscure planes you don't really see in games. |

if you did it for yourself fine, i dont think anyone will knock down your door but if you put it up for others to download then that action means you are an online pirate giving out copyrighted materials, if you upload that here or anywhere else for downloading then that website can be shut down and sued over it. what sounds like it makes good common sense doesnt always follow the rules of law that can cover copyrighted stuff because someone somewhere always wants to be greedy and make money off of others work. |
Soooooooooo,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, North American Aviation wants royalties for a plane they haven't had in production for over 70 years...............:dead:
Ohhhhhhhhhh brother. Now I've heard it all............. So how did the all the flightsims get away with using it's likeness? Like Aces of the Pacific, and Aces Over Europe, CFS2 and CFS3, and all the mods that have been done from guys building them on their home system, and offerring it for free? I think even Pacific Airwar Gold had a B-25 in it. Oh and so did European Airwar, an add-on, no pay freebie plane. Just doesn't make sense. So I wonder, if those model manufacturers pay them for making scale models of them? I built Guillows balsa construction B-25 when I was in highschool. Only as a static display model though. Covered it with very thin sheet balsa, and then adhered tinfoil to it to simulate the natural duralumin skin. Even took a clock gear on yoke and scribed little bumps in the foil to simulate the rivet heads. |

that was what UBI claimed as the reason it wasnt in the game, they couldnt come to terms with royalty rights. i guess the other games ponied up the fee to use it |
The real joke would be Douglas wanting royalties for the TBD! That planr was more dangerous to those who flew it, than it was to the enemy.
Oh well, such is so. |
