I haven't surf for like 15yrs now, use to love it but I figured if I came off the board these days I did tumble round like a rag doll on the sea floor and never surface. :rotfl2:

:haha:

I thought about taking the 8 footer board, slower when riding a wave but if I am going to be rag dolled around by a wave kissing the sand each time at least the 8 footer will bring me back to the surface.

I lost a good mate while surfing in Australia he and his wife would go to Aussie on the odd weekends so he could surf as he was a fanatical surfer and at 54 yrs was as fit as a 20yr old. He was slammed against the rocks which would of knocked him out resulting in him drowning. But thats the risk you take its either you drown or a shark gets you.

Speaking of 20 yrs olds the two young guys who work nightshift with me are taking of Friday, Saturday (we all get off) sunday AND monday cause they are going to a reggae concert in Gisborne NZ. Bloody hell! Easily replaced as we will grab day shift workers who want to make extra money by doing double shifts. I would of told them do not bother coming back as we are at our peak period where the work is all go atm. Tho they are excellent workers they work hard. But still 3 days off so they can go to a reggae concert to get stoned out of their heads. lol

I wonder what technique they use to measure the height of those waves?

Nevermind the wave height, too many apex predators for me.
