Beastie Boys star Adam Yauch dies aged 47

Whether you were a fan or not this is still so terribly tragic for someone so young :nope:

Egan 05-04-12 03:49 PM

I remember (with a lot of fondness, it has to be said) the utterly silly tabloid hysteria which accompanied their first tour of Britain in 86/87. I was in high school at the time but I think within 24 hours of them hitting the Sun everyone in my class had traded up from Dire Straights to the Beastie Boys. For me, it was my first real introduction into what became my continuing love of Rap, Hip-hop, punk and, latterly, electronic music.

RIP MCA.

Thanks for the Memories Mate!
:salute:

I never cared for The Beastie Boys and I'd suspect Drugs lead to an early demise.
:hmmm:

Or more likely the cancer he had been battling since 2009.

The Beastie Boys were always one of my favorite groups. They did some groundbreaking stuff and MCA is going to be missed terribly.

Too young to go, MCA!

Same like Egan, the BB's helped to bring me to good music. - still something I compare every rap act with - all those bs gansta and plastic hip hop is nothibng against the mighty Beastie Boys! Plus their first recordings are pretty good punk rock: Egg Raid On Mojo
