Every single one of my buddies in china has myopia, whereas on Canada I barely see anyone with myopia

That explains why the JSDF pilot eyesight standards seem to be slowly slipping...

Well I have it, not really a bad condition except for glasses being bloody expensive. :O:

I read in some war book that the Japanese high white rice diet contributed to them needing glasses a lot. I think it was Shots Fired In Anger by John George. But I looked up Myopia and there is nothing to correlate that statement.

According to the Wikipedia article on Myopia it is on the rise in much of the world.

I don't know about this, but I am stubbing my eye on the term "school leavers". :hmmm:

School leavers?:06:

Found out I have it a month ago. Doctor said I was born with it so no regrets.

It's not severe though, since the doctor asked me how's vision and I was :haha: PERFECT... and then she put lenses on and I was :wah:

As a 'school leaver' my self, I believe this is PC talk for high school drop out.:D

Interesting that it's on the rise... Surely too much tv/games could contribute to this as well? With kids being up too close to a screen and such :hmmm: Just thinking out loud on this one...

As Rilder said, it's not such a bad condition. I've had it since I was in Year 2-3. Glasses are pretty pricey especially if you add in the extras like the transition lens (which I always get). :-? (Mum's Long Sighted, think kid bro's slightly myopic already, 2nd bro wears glasses/contacts. It was in fact when he let me try his glasses that I found out)
