What changes are in LWAMI from the stock game.

the changes to gameplay over stock are subtle, but an improvement, the AI is more challenging; weapons both friendly and enemy are easier to evade, putting a premium on getting a good solution; sonar modelling has been refined.

there are also many new AI platforms.

Additional platforms, armed merchant ships and a laundry list of new nations have been added. Likewise, many of the 3D models have been cleaned up. The sonar modeling has been completely overhauled to attempt to better represent actual array behavior and returns.
